It is a 2 hour drive from Nelson to The Innlet. The road passes through Motueka and crosses the Takaka Hill (Marble Mountain). Takaka is the last town with Banks and ATMs and a variety of shops.

From there it is a further 30 minutes drive to The Innlet. You may wish to turn off to the village of Collingwood 10km before The Innlet: fuel, tiny museum, Rosy Glow Chocolates, Courthouse cafe and small supermarket. Take careful note of the sign posts.
The Innlet is on the road to Farewell Spit and Pakawau: take care not to miss a turn off or you may end up at the Heaphy Track!. Zoom on the google map below. We are 300 meters before Totara Avenue on the left..look for our sign.
Most people arrive by car, but the Intercity Coachlines brings many travellers from Nelson and Christchurch to Golden Bay and has a connecting bus, Golden Bay Coachlines, which runs from Takaka to Collingwood from where we offer a $10 pick up... this is a 22km round trip.
